Grenada County and several surrounding counties are at a slight risk for possible severe weather today, Wednesday, April 5, beginning in the early parts of the afternoon and on into the evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, severe storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail up to golf ball size are possible. A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
Grenada EMA/911 director Trebia Rodgers said the safe room is not open right now, but if there is a need to open it later she will update the community.
