Severe weather with the potential of damaging winds and tornadoes are possible this afternoon and into the evening for Grenada County.
Preparations have been made throughout the day and shelters have been open to the public in anticipation of the severe weather.
According to Grenada County EMA/911 Director Trebia Rodgers, the City of Grenada’s Safe Room located at 260 Mondy Rd., is now open to those in need of shelter during the storms.
If you are in the Charleston area and need shelter, the city’s Safe Room, located at 185 S. Market St., is also open.
As thunderstorms – some severe – come and go this evening, Rodgers asks that residents stay weather aware and to make sure you have a good way to hear warnings that will wake you up if necessary.
