Severe weather with the potential of damaging winds and tornadoes is possible this evening in Grenada County.
The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Wind Advisory beginning at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 8, until 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9.
Gusty winds and thunderstorms are possible after 6 p.m. with the possibility of tornadoes. Downed trees and limbs as well as power outages may occur.
According to Grenada County EMA/911 Director Trebia Rodgers, the City of Grenada’s Safe Room located at 260 Mondy Rd., opened at 4 p.m. today, Feb. 8, for those in need of shelter during the storms.
Residents are asked to stay weather alert throughout the night and adhere to all watches or warnings.
