The City of Grenada’s special-called council meeting was canceled this evening due to the lack of a quorum.

Collins and City Manager Stanford Amos for the meeting, which was schedule for 6 p.m. on Monday, March 28, during last week’s regular monthly council meeting. After waiting 20 minutes for one of the four missing councilmembers to arrive, Collins canceled.
Councilmembers not in attendance included, Fredrick “Pete” Wilson, Ward 2; Lewis Johnson, Ward 3; Michael D. Smith, Ward 4, and Eric Harris, Ward 5.
The meeting’s agenda contained six items including:

• Consideration of approval of a contract for community/economic development.
• Declaration of an emergency on Church Street due to a storm drain collapse.
• Approval of an amendment to the agreement for engineering services with Willis Engineering.
• Discussion and/or approval of roof repairs at the Emergency Operations Center on Van Dorn Street.
