Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada for Mr. Jeff Vance, 59, of Grenada, who died on Sunday, Jan. 9, in Memphis, Tenn. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Eugene Heimbach will officiate. Family and friends will gather from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Jan. 12, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. The family asks for people to wear masks at the ser-vices.
Jeff was born on Feb. 4, 1962, in Grenada, the son of Glyn Alton and Shirley Sykes Vance, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Yalobusha Academy in 1980, and he was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada.
Jeff worked as an engineer technician across north Mississippi since he was 17-years-old. Throughout his career, he worked for Willis Engineering in Grenada, W.L. Burle Engineers in Greenville and CMT Laboratory Services in Grenada. He had a love for music – particularly classic 80s rock – dating all the way back to his high school days when he was part of a local band. He also loved spending time fishing with his friends and family, particularly fishing on the White River in Arkansas.
Survivors include, his wife, Leigh Clark Vance of Grenada; children, Alex Vance (Laura) of Brooklyn, N.Y., Adrienne Vance of Carrollton and Taylor Vance of Jackson; sister, Cindy Young (Jeff) of Oxford; a brother-in-law, Jeff McWhorter (Kim) of Grenada; grandson, Corbett Vance and a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada.
