Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Ruby Geraldine Cole Lyons Harbin, 76, retired Avaya Communication manager, who died on Sunday, Dec. 12, in Oxford. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin Tribble and Bro. Reuben Cole will officiate. Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at McKibben and Guinn.
Ms. Harbin was born on Sept. 30, 1945. She was a native of Grenada, the youngest daughter of the late Wayne and Ruby June (Betty Lou) Yielding Cole of the Futheyville Community. She was a graduate of John Rundle High School, Class of 1963, and was of the Baptist faith. While working for various telephone entities, Geraldine was employed in Grenada, Greenwood, Jackson, New Orleans, La., Birmingham, Ala., Dallas, Texas, and Atlanta, Ga., returning to Jackson to retire after 35 years of service in 2001. After retiring from Avaya, she pursued a career with the law firm of Herring Long and Crews and Earth Consulting Group, Environmental Consultants in the Canton Area, officially retiring in 2011.
In addition to her parents, her husband of 30 years, Bobby Lee Harbin; grandparents, John and Irma Lawson Yielding of Seattle, Wash., and Sid and May Wammack Cole of Grenada; the father of her children, Clyde Ray Lyons; brother, Chester William Cole of Grenada; one Sister, Verna Jean Cole Tackett of Sallisaw, Okla., and one grandson, Hunter Chase McNatt of Grenada, preceded Ms. Harbin in death.
Survivors include, her daughters, Celina Rhea Lyons McNatt Hayward (Marc) and Teri Michele Lyons Sims (Glen Perry), all of Grenada; four granddaughters, April Kristen McNatt Winter, Amber Nicole Floyd Smith, Hannah Rhea Sims Gibson (Justin) and Macie Jordan McNatt; five great grandchildren, Charlie Beth Winter, Klayton Hayes Winter, Jaxon Chase Williamson, Henley Grace Smith and Jace Gibson, two sisters-in-law, Allene Sullivan and Sharon Harbin (Bryant), two stepdaughters, Bonnie Lynn Rodgers of Grenada and Leigh Ann Harbin (Joey) Turner of Coffeeville and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Josh Allbritton, Greg Clark, Cody Cole, Justin Gibson, Jaxon Williamson and Matt Winter. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Cole and Klayton Winter.
