Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, in Woodlawn Memorial Park for Mrs. Doris Cole Weatherall, 88, of Grenada, who died on Tuesday, Jan. 4, in Oxford. The Rev. Harold Sprayberry is officiating.
Doris was born on July 7, 1933, in Oktibbeha County near Maben. She was a member of First United Methodist Church Grenada and had spent most of her working life as an agent with Calhoon Insurance.
Doris lived a full life as a wonderful mother, compassionate wife, devoted homemaker and committed insurance agent. She was an amazing example of a caring, generous and fun-loving person, who always cared for others. Whether it was family, friends, clients or even total strangers, she found ways to help those around her. Any gathering at her house was full of love, tons of laughter and an abundance of food. She will be greatly missed.
Her parents, Mervin and Rubye Cole; husband, Jimmy Ward Weatherall; one son, Jimmy Cole Weatherall; one grandson, David Beecher Weatherall, and eight siblings, Vernon Cole, Mervin Cole, Rachael Cole Brown, James Cole, Olene Cole Roberts, Helen Cole Spraberry, Thomas Cole and Alice Cole Calhoon, preceded Doris in death.
Survivors include, two sons, Beecher Weatherall of Grenada and Charlie Weatherall of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Dorothy Thompson of Memphis, Tenn., and Jan Pence of Grenada; four grandchildren, Lauren Weatherall McClintock, Lacey Weatherall, Heath Weatherall and Justin Weatherall and three great grandchildren, Annie Weatherall, Betsy Weatherall and Taylor McClintock.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations be made in Doris’ name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice as an expression of sympathy.
