Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mrs. Christy Lee Lane Walters, 49, of Grenada, who died on Wednesday, Jan. 25, in Grenada. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery at Rosebloom.
Christy was born on April 7, 1973, in Charleston, the daughter of George and Barbara Tallent Lane. She was a graduate of the Holmes Community College Nursing Program. A natural-born caregiver, Christy excelled in her career as a nurse and spent more than 18 years in various settings caring for the sick. Christy enjoyed spending time with her family, attending dirt drag races and hunting with her husband. She was a member of Grenada Church of the Nazarene.
Her father, George Lane, preceded Christy in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Tim Walters; two sons, Zach Moore of Oxford and Travis Walters of Ft. Worth, Texas; mother, Barbara Lane Dunlap of Bruce; sisters, Micki Jones of Bruce and Tracy Moore of Clarksdale; brother, Tony Pullen of Houlka; grandson, Benton Lane Moore, and a host of nieces and nephews, who will also cherish her memory for many years to come.
Jason Hardin, Steve Hardin, Alex Moore, Zach Moore, Tony Pullen and Mark Walters honored Christy by serving as pallbearers and carried her to rest in Smith Cemetery. Luke Hardin and Lewis Ray Walters served as honorary pallbearers.
