Each year on March 17, an Irish culture is celebrated worldwide.
St. Patrick’s Day observes the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.
Not only is St. Patrick’s Day a day of Saint Patrick, but the Irish heritage and culture remembers and celebrates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. St. Patrick established monasteries, churches and schools using the shamrock to teach the Trinity.
Celebrations involve parades, festivals, the wearing of green or shamrocks and a pinch or two - if you lack the shade of green.
Grenada homeowner Doris Martin is making a statement this St. Patrick’s Day by decorating her home in green lights and other decor for the occasion. Located on Seminole Drive, the home is for sure a sight to see once the sun goes down.
