Funeral services were held at noon on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2025, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Linda Joyce Bond Barnhill, 82, of Winona, who died on Monday, Jan. 12, in Vaiden. Burial followed in Bluff Springs Cemetery in Carroll County. The Rev. Reidis Nash officiated the chapel service and the Rev. Billy Little officiated the graveside service. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday, Jan. 15, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barnhill was born on Sept. 17, 1943, in Kilmichael, the daughter of the late George O’Neal Bond Sr. and the late Era Chandler Bond. She was a faithful member of Winona Baptist Temple in Winona.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Ronald Alton “R.A.” Barnhill; infant son, Donald Alton Barnhill; one sister, Georgia Mae Osborn; five brothers: James Clayton Bond, James Edward Bond, Neal Bond, Billy Bond, Carrol Bond and James “Bud” Bond, and one grandson, preceded Mrs. Barnhill in death.
Survivors include, her daughters, Edna Malone of Winona and Emily Morehead (Todd) of Winona; four sons: Ronald Ray Barnhill (Gloria) of Kilmichael, Floyd Barnhill of Kosciusko, James Barnhill (Dawan) of Baconton, Ga., and Bobby Barnhill of Winona; five sisters: Kay Dees (Leon) of McCool, Luna Montague of French Camp, Julia Bond of Kilmichael, Dorothy “Dot” Nail of Winona and Bonnie Mann of Winona; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
