First responders from all over Grenada County and even the State of Mississippi quickly responded to the scene of a Beech 95-B55 aircraft that crashed after veering off the runway at the Grenada Municipal Airport earlier today.
According to investigators at the scene, the light, twin-engine piston aircraft, also known as the Beechcraft Baron B55, which was registered out of Germantown, Tenn., appeared to lose its front landing gear and plowed into the grassy area adjacent to the runway. It was carrying three passengers, along with the pilot. Two people received minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
According to Grenada County Emergency Management Agency Director Chris Whitehurst, one of the passengers was an Angel Flight patient being transported for medical services.
