Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Christ Community Church for Mr. Keith Wayne Whipple Sr., 81, of Grenada, who died on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, at his residence.
Keith was born on Jan. 29, 1944, in Lansing, Mich., the son of the late Earl Whipple and the late Ruby Lindaur Whipple. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He spent his career in sales in the food industry.
While employed for Sysco, Keith received the Salesman of the Year Award. He went on to work for himself and opened up Papa’s Pizza in Grenada. He also enjoyed many hobbies including, hunting, fishing, camping, sports, remodeling and, yes, his Bourbon. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Grenada.
In 1965, Keith married his wife, Violet, and they began their new lives together. Creating a life together, they were blessed with a large family including, two children, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, two brothers, Ken Whipple and Tom Whipple, preceded Keith in death.
Survivors include, his wife of more than 60 years, Violet H. Whipple; son, Keith Wayne Whipple Jr. (Melissa) of Denver, N.C.; daughter, Deborah Preston (Greg) of Grenada; grandchildren: Delaney Whipple, Zack Whipple, Kaelob Preston, Klayton Preston and Kendall Preston; great grandchildren: Nolan Robinson, Levi Preston, Lawson Preston and Webb Preston; one brother, Jake Whipple, and his sister, Sally Johnson.
