A Celebration of Life Service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Grenada for Judy Ann Lundberg Bounds, 83, of Grenada, who died on Thursday, Feb. 13. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Judy or “Mimi” as she was known by many, was born on Oct. 29, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of the late Kenneth Robert Lundberg and the late Fern Thelma Jacobson Lundberg. After moving to Grenada in 1955, Judy graduated from John Rundle High School and attended the University of Mississippi. While at Ole Miss, she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Judy taught in the Clarksdale Public School System and was a member of the Association of University Women.
Judy was an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Daughters of the King and a charter member of the Knit Wits, a knitting group that provides knitted items for newborn babies and other members of the community.
In addition to her parents, her daughter, Kimberly Jane Bounds Mims; one sister, Jane Ellen Lundberg Tribble, and her nephew, Robert Travis Tribble, preceded Judy in death.
Survivors include, her husband of 62 years, Thomas Giles Bounds of Grenada; four grandchildren, Taylor Mims (Nikki), Joanna Mims Owens (Blaine), Sarah Mims (Kyle Price) and Katie Mims (Channing Goss); eight great grandchildren, Kamryn Alexis Hudson, Vera Jane Hatley, Mason Thomas Mims, Mila Kate Mims, Brett Kenneth Owens, Payton Monroe Owens, Chandler Kate Goss and Miles Taylor Mims, and niece, Jennifer Tribble Moorman and her children, Morgan Moorman (Sarah Grace) and Sophie Moorman.
Channing Goss, Taylor Mims, Troye Mims III, Morgan Moorman, Blaine Owens and Kyle Price honored Judy by serving as pallbearers and carried her to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Troye Mims Jr. served as an honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to All Saints Episcopal Church, 469 Main St., Grenada, MS 38901 or Blair Batson Children’s Hospital, 2500 N. State St., Jackson, MS 39216.
