Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Johnny Wright Jackson, 75, of Tillatoba, who died on Tuesday, April 8, at his residence. Burial followed in Elam Cemetery. Bro. James Jones and Bro. Justin Hill officiated. The family received friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, April 12, at McKibben and Guinn.
Johnny was born on Oct. 29, 1949, in Grenada, the son of the late Fred Wright Jackson and the late Bernice Pearl Lowery Jackson. He enjoyed a career spanning more than 45 years at Heatcraft in Grenada. An avid outdoorsman, Johnny enjoyed spending his spare time hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, three sisters, Mary Elizabeth “Tootsie” Jackson, Nancy Carol Redwine and Freddie Jean Gray, preceded Johnny in death.
Survivors include, three sons, Johnny Jackson Jr. (Loretta) of Tillatoba; Fred Allen Jackson (Tamitha) of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Timothy Lee Jackson (Laura) of Grenada; two sisters, Virginia Grubbs of Grenada and Myra Dempsey of Tillatoba; his brother, Danny Jackson of Tillatoba; four grandchildren, Amber Jackson, Anna Pullen (Sam), Bryan Jackson and Caitlin Siklas and four great grandchildren.
Jason Doubleday, Jonathan Hill, Cody Kendall, Bryan McCullough, Jason McCullough and Sam Pullen honored Johnny by serving as pallbearers and carried him to rest in Elam Cemetery.
