Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Mr. John William “Buddy” Costilow, 75, of Winona, who died on Friday, Oct. 11. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery in Winona. The Rev. Randy Bridges officiated. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until service time on Monday, Oct. 14, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Costilow was born on March 8, 1949, the son of the late James and the late Mary Helen Blaylock Costilow.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Lucille Leverett Costilow; one daughter, Carma Lynn Costilow; his son, John William Costilow; one sister, Linda Gayle Costilow, and one grandson, preceded Mr. Costilow in death.
Survivors include, his daughters, Ruby Stone (Kenneth) of Winona, Nita Power (Larry) of Carrollton, Chrystal Lee Ann Costilow of Wiggins and Paige Huffman (Brad) of Winona; three sisters, Mary Loden of Atlanta, Ga., Sue Brassfield of Duck Hill and Brenda Flippen of Pelahatchie; his brothers, Sammy Costilow of Vaiden, Mack Costilow of Winona, James Costilow of Vaiden, David Costilow of Ethel and Benny Costilow of Winona; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
