Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. John Jacob “Jake” Tribble, 68, of Grenada, who died on Tuesday, May 13, in Oxford. Bro. Bennie Vance and his son, Bro. Kevin Tribble, officiated.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1956, in Grenada, the son of the late William “Doc” and the late Priscilla Sultan Tribble. He worked in the IT Department at Union Planters Bank. In his spare time, Jake enjoyed fishing, woodworking and his favorite pastime, piddling. A devoted member of Faith Fellowship Church, Jake was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and instrumental in all activities of the church.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Shirley Taylor, and his brother, Winfred Jenkins Tribble, preceded Jake in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Anita Matheny Tribble; son, the Rev. Kevin Tribble (Laura) of Holcomb; grandchildren, Laine Tribble (Tristan) of Grenada and Karli Hollis (Ashton) of Holcomb and one great grandchild, Beckett Wade Hollis.
The Men of Faith Fellowship, along with his close friends and fishing buddies, served as honorary pallbearers.
