Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mrs. Allene Harbin Sullivan, 89, of Grenada, who died on Tuesday, May 13, in Oxford. Burial followed in the Sullivan family plot in Duck Hill Cemetery. Pastor Joey Williams officiated. The family received friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday, May 15, at McKibben and Guinn.
Allene was born on Dec. 18, 1935, in Grenada, the daughter of the late Claude and the late Jennie Myrtis Collins Harbin. She was a deeply devoted mother and grandmother, and worked alongside her husband in their repair business for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crafting, cooking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed bowling and played in the local league for several years.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Melvin “Dick” Sullivan; sons, Michael Ray Sullivan, Randy Lee Sullivan and Kenneth Wayne Sullivan; sister, Murline Ritts; brothers, Bobby Lee Harbin and Bryant Harbin, and one granddaughter, Courtney Sullivan Hill, preceded Allene in death.
Survivors include, five grandchildren, Eric Wayne Sullivan, Stephanie Sullivan Utroska (Chris), Ashley Sullivan Berryhill (Jason), Pamela Sullivan Trusty (BJ) and Heather Sullivan Sappenfield (Jason) and nine great grandchildren, Madison Hill, Brody Utroska, Gabbie Berryhill, Gracie Berryhill, Tripp Penn, Peyton Sullivan, Breckin Trusty, Brady Rae Sappenfield and Bryce Sappenfield.
Jason Berryhill, Tripp Penn, Jason Sappenfield, Eric Sullivan, BJ Trusty, Tommy Trusty and Chris Utroska honored Allene by serving as pallbearers and carried her to rest in Duck Hill Cemetery.
