Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Mr. John David Arendale Sr., 76, of New Albany, formerly of Winona, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at his residence. Burial with military honors followed at 2 p.m. in Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville. The Rev. Eddie Dodd officiated. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Arendale was born on Nov. 23, 1947, in Marks, the son of the late Edward E. Arendale and Mary Beatrice Manley Arendale. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a United States Vietnam War veteran.
In addition to his parents, five brothers, Eddie Arendale, Tommy Arendale, Mike Arendale, Curt Arendale and Jimmy Arendale, preceded Mr. Arendale in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Barbara Mitchell Arendale of New Albany; daughter, Shellie Arendale Lohmeier of New Albany; son, John David Arendale Jr. of Vaiden; sisters, Nina Hanson of Starkville and Tina Ray of Cleveland; one brother, Rickie Steven Arendale of Greenville; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
