Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mrs. Jewel Bennett Heath, 86, of Grenada, who went to her heavenly home on Friday, Oct. 3. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery in Carroll County. The Rev. J. Barry Worrell and the Rev. Eugene Heimbach officiated.
Jewel was born on March 7, 1939, in Montgomery County, the daughter of the late Ralph Douglas “Tiny” Bennett and the late Mattie Frances Woods Bennett. She spent her life working at Pennaco Hosiery in Grenada and faithfully serving in the house of the Lord. She was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she sang joyfully in the Sanctuary Choir and was active in Sunday school and the ladies’ ministry.
Jewel also cherished the fellowship of her ladies’ card-playing group where she loved sharing everyone’s favorite treat – fried peach pies. Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother who deeply cared for her family.
In addition to her parents, her son-in-law, Steve Couch, and a brother-in-law, Kenny Tierce, preceded Jewel in death.
Survivors include, her husband of 71 years, Bobby Heath; two daughters, Debbie Heath Hankins (Lee) and Rosemary Heath Couch; her sister, Margaret Bennett Tierce; two brothers, James Ralph Bennett (Sue) and Ronnie Bennett (Carolyn); six grandchildren, Tiffany Vance (Bryan), Lindsay Morgan (Andy), Lee Anne Hankins, Lee Joseph Hankins, Haley Heath Hankins and Allison Bloodworth Frazier (Will); great grandchildren, Austin Vance, Sidney Martin, McCulley Johnson, Eli Johnson, Lake Morgan, Abbott Lee Hankins, Jaxon Heath Moore, Julez Ann Moore, Joseph Thomas Rouse, Lila Frances Frazier, Mary O’Neal Frazier and Navy Lee Hankins, and great-great grandchildren, Jett Johnson and Kensley Rose Vance.
Pallbearers were Lee Joseph Hankins Jr., William O’Neal Frazier, Abbott Lee Hankins, Jaxon Heath Moore, Austin Doyal Vance and Sidney Lee Martin.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Jewel’s caregivers and the staff at Grenada Living Center and Legacy Hospice for the love and exceptional care during Jewel’s illness.
