Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Jerry L. King, 79, of Carroll County, who died on Thursday, Oct. 20, in Jackson. Burial followed in Red Hill Church of Christ Cemetery in Duck Hill. Billy Daves, Gene Barrett, Doug Segars and David Franklin officiated the service. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the funeral home.
Mr. King was born on July 7, 1943, in French Camp, the son of the late William and Jesse McGlothin King. He was a member of West President Church of Christ in Greenwood, former owner and mechanic of J&H Diesel Services and a veteran of the United States Navy.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Joyce King; one son, Greg King, and one sister, Peggy Salley, preceded Mr. King in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Tammy Harrell (Danny) of Teoc; two sons, Wesley King (Sylvia) of Red Hill and James Grant (Tammy) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one sister, Janie Henry of Zion, Ill.; brother, Claude King of French Camp; five grandchildren, Cannon Grant, Greg Harrell, Hayden Harrell, Vivian King and Cameron King and one great grandchild, Crue Harrell.
Pallbearers were his grandchildren and nephew. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Michael Boler, Mark Shiers, Bo Cleveland and Harold Floyd.
