Memorial service plans are private for Mrs. Janie Ruth “Polly” Kendall Grammer, 79, of Cascilla, who died on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, in Grenada.
Polly was born on June 19, 1943, in Cascilla, the daughter of the late William and the late Vadie Melton Kendall. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who deeply loved her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and loved to share her delicious meals with family and friends.
Polly had a deep sense of community and cared for and loved her friends and neighbors in the Cascilla Community. Gardening, flowers and feeding the birds were among the many things she enjoyed in her spare time. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, one son, Dennis Ray Grammer; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Grammer, and nine siblings, preceded Polly in death.
Survivors include, her husband, William R. “Spud” Grammer; two sons, James Roy Grammer of Cascilla and Carl Ray Houston of Santa Fe, N.M.; three grandchildren, Holly Bailey, Dustin Grammer and Cody Grammer; three great grandchildren, Eli Bailey, Barrett Grammer and Bryson Grammer, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the staff of the Critical Care Unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center Grenada for the excellent care provided to Polly.
