Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Emmanuel Baptist Church for Miss Janet Amanda “Mandy” McCarley, 50, of Grenada, who died on Saturday, June 8, in Grenada. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Eugene Heimbach and Dr. Kevin Jackson officiated. The family received friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, June 11, at the church.
Mandy was born on Dec. 31, 1973, in Grenada. Her love for her family and friends was unparalleled. She was a loyal fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs and loved to cheer on the Dawgs at every opportunity. She also enjoyed shopping, painting and visiting with friends and family. Mandy was an animal lover and had a soft spot for every dog she met. She adored her nieces and nephews and looked forward to welcoming another nephew in July.
Her grandparents, Edgar and Vella Morris and Harry and Coly McCarley, as well as several aunts and uncles, preceded Mandy in death.
Survivors include, her mother, Deb Morris Speir of Grenada; father, Mac McCarley of Grenada; sister, Joey Bowen (Robert) of Grenada; brothers, Harry McCarley (Michele) and Paul McCarley (Amy), all of Grenada; special nieces, Olivia McCarley and Kobi McCarley; special nephews, Baley Bowen, Cason McCarley and Giles McCarley and several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
Gene Bell, Baley Bowen, Robert Bowen, Harry McCarley, Paul McCarley and T.D. Murphy honored Mandy by serving as pallbearers and carried her to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Ray Branscome and Tim LeClair served as honorary pallbearers.
