Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, in Wayside Cemetery for Mrs. Jane Catherine Smart Pollan, 86, of Scobey, who died on Thursday, Jan. 22. The Rev. Truman Scarborough officiated.
Jane was born on July 17, 1939, in Grenada, the daughter of the late Samuel Wallace Smart and the late Florence Hankins Smart. A devoted homemaker, she worked diligently throughout her life to make her house a home. She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished the time spent with her family. Jane was a faithful member of Wayside Baptist Church where her quiet devotion and steady presence were a blessing to many.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Freddie Pollan, and two brothers, David Smart and Robbie Smart, preceded Jane in death.
Survivors include, her daughter, Lisa Fly (Jeff) of Grenada; her son, Roger Pollan of Scobey; one brother, Wendell Smart of Grenada; six grandchildren: Amber Pollan (Jonathan Stafford), Austin Pollan (Lynne), Kayleen Powell (Tanner), Katie Morgan (Hunter), Karlee Pollan and Walker Pollan, and seven great grandchildren: Connor Stafford, Corbin Stafford, Hank Morgan, Bobbi Claire Powell, Harper Morgan, Bankston Powell and Ellie Stafford.
