Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Moore Memorial United Methodist Church for James Quitman Perkins Jr., 78, of Kilmichael, who died on Thursday, June 16, in Jackson. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Chad Bowen officiated. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday, June 25, at the church.
Mr. Perkins was born on July 31, 1943, in New Orleans, La., the son of James Quitman and Bertha Turner Perkins. He was a retired member of the United States Army Reserve. He was a member of Moore Memorial United Methodist Church in Winona.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Susan Johnston Perkins; his sisters, Pat Howell and Jane Stanford, and his brother, Luther Perkins, preceded Mr. Perkins in death.
Survivors include, his daughters, Betsy Watson (Robb) and Katie Harper (Ken), all of Brandon; stepsons, Steven Lowery (Sheila) of Winona and Josh Lowery of Flowood; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
