A Celebration of Life Service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. James Edward “Jimmy” Williams, 85, of Grenada, who died on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, at his residence with all of his family gathered together. Bro. Wayne Cupit officiated. Neal Hillard delivered the eulogy.
Jimmy was born on Aug. 28, 1939, in Waynesboro, Tenn., the son of the late Waco and the late Lucille White Williams. Jimmy, a retired tile setter, honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis. He was a distinguished gentleman and family man, who loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, five siblings, preceded Jimmy in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Gwen Williams; daughter, Shelley Cupit (Wayne) of Grenada; two grandchildren, Dallas Cupit of Oxford and Laken Thorn (Jonathan) of Carrollton; one great grandchild, Kye Thorn, and nine siblings.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Ashmore, Steve Blaylock, Glen Duke, Billy Ryals, Benny Taylor and Henry Topps.
