Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church for Ms. Holly LaNelle Harrison, 46, of Grenada, who died on Wednesday, Aug. 16, in Oxford. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Holly was born on Nov. 6, 1976, in Greenwood, the daughter of Carl Hugh and LaNelle Hamilton Harrison. She possessed a keen sense of style and enjoyed making crafts at every opportunity. She also enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables.
Holly was blessed with a caregiver’s heart and enriched the lives of many patients as she worked as a registered nurse and paramedic. A devoted Christian, Holly was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was also active in the North Mississippi Walk to Emmaus. While Holly held many titles in life, the one most dear to her was “Mimi.” Holly loved being a grandmother and all of the joy it brought her.
Her grandparents, Ira and Mary Harrison, and Harold and Odean Hamilton, preceded Holly in death.
Survivors include, her daughter, Emily Ashton Butler (Jeremy) of Grenada; sons, James Wesley Mooney (McKenzie) and Braden Harrison James Sprayberry, all of Grenada; parents, Carl Hugh and LaNelle Harrison of Grenada; brothers, Darren Harrison (Kerri) and Kevin Harrison (Renee), all of Grenada; three grandchildren, Lorelei Elizabeth Butler, Kenneth Logan Butler and Callie Grace Mooney with another grandchild due in September, Lillian Joyce Butler, and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Austin Harrison, Will Harrison, Jack Mabus, Drew Pounds, Riley Reed and Steve Renfro honored Holly by serving as pallbearers and carried her to rest in Providence Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
