Trey Baker, former City of Grenada City Manager and former White House Senior Advisor, who is now with Barnes and Thornburg Law Firm, teamed up with The Diamond Project, Inc., founder and president, Andrea Lee, and organized a special trip that allowed 10 Grenada School District students from The Diamond Project, Inc., and The 100 Black Men of Grenada, Inc., to attend the viewing of the new Emmett Till movie “Till,” in Washington, D.C. last month. United States President Joe Biden, actress Whoopi Goldberg and stars from the movie also attended the viewing. Goldberg took time with the students sharing words of encouragement and joined in on a few selfies. Student Mentees and Diamond Project Girls received a private tour of The White House and the United States Capitol Building during their time in Washington.
Immediate past president of the 100 Black Men Grenada chapter, Roger Givens, and chaperone, Cheleas Loston, were also in attendance for the trip.
