Parents and fans will be introduced to the 2023 edition of the Grenada High School Chargers football teams and cheerleaders Thursday night as the GHS Football Booster Club hosts Meet the Chargers at Charger Stadium.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with seventh through 12th grade football players and cheerleaders being recognized at 6 p.m. The event is scheduled to concluded at 8 p.m.
“We would like to invite everyone in the community to show support for the 2023 Grenada Chargers football teams and cheerleaders,” GHS Football Booster Club President Don Gober said. “This is going to be a great opportunity to meet the coaching staff, along with the players. We appreciate all of the support from our community and look forward to seeing you Thursday night at Meet the Chargers.”
An admission fee of $5 per person will be charged at the gate with proceeds benefiting the GHS Football Booster Club. As the final touches are being added to the stadium’s $2.1 million state-of-the-art renovation project, Gober encourages everyone to come out and get a sneak peak of the upgrades.
“This will be a great opportunity to see the new turf field and show your support for the upcoming season,” he added.
Several food vendors will be on hand selling meals and snacks. Vendors scheduled for the event include Frozen Magic offering hot dogs, corn dogs, snow cones and fried treats; Ray & Gail’s Pork Skins selling pork skins, funnel cakes, fries and lemonade; Dwayne’s Food Truck serving BBQ, brisket and shrimp and the GHS Marching Band Concession Stand grilling hamburgers, chips and drinks.
Jolly Jumpers will also be onsite for children fun. A $5 wristband will be available allowing access to an inflatable obstacle course, 18-foot slide and bouncy house.
