Heading into last week, the Grenada Lady Chargers needed to sweep the three remaining Class 6A Region 1 games to qualify for the postseason.
When the week ended, they came up one match short ending their postseason streak. The week started with a 3-1 win over Saltillo last Monday. Match scores were a 25-23 win followed by a 25-20 victory. Saltillo won the third set 25-17 and GHS won the match with a 25-16 win in the fourth set.
Senior Olivia Lashley had 12 kills and four aces.
Last Tuesday, the Chargers cruised to a 3-0 win over South Panola in Batesville by scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-16.
Lashley had 12 aces and 7 kills.
Against Center Hill, GHS lost 25-23, 25-22 and 25-19.
With the losses, GHS is 8-9 overall and 3-7 in the region.
GHS hosts Winona at 5 p.m. Thursday.
