The Grenada Food Pantry will hold its March Food Distribution Day from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. this Saturday, March 28, at its location behind the Grenada Police Department and City Auditorium.
Handicapped recipients should drive through on Green Street, while all others are asked to park and come inside from the Main Street side.
Residents who have not re-certified for the 2025-26 year must complete a new application to receive assistance. Required documentation includes proof of household income, proof of residency in Grenada County and a valid photo ID. All recipients must present a 2025-26 Food Pantry ID card at pickup.
Volunteers are also needed to help with operations this week. Bagging will take place beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, March 26, and additional help is needed on Distribution Day from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Pantry coordinator Kim McRee said community support is essential to keeping the nonprofit’s mission going strong.
“Our volunteers make it possible to serve hundreds of local families each month,” she said. “Even just an hour or two of help makes a real difference.”
Residents with questions may contact McRee at (662) 417-6210, visit the Grenada Food Pantry Facebook page or email grenadafoodpantry@yahoo.com
Organizers are also encouraging residents to share the pantry’s announcement on social media to help spread the word about the upcoming distribution.
