The Board of Supervisors held a budget meeting to discuss and approve the Grenada County tax levy for 2022-23 last Thursday morning.
Board members in attendance for the meeting were Darrell Robinson, Chad Bridges and Columbus Hankins. Michael Lott, who was out of town, was present via phone. Supervisor Chad Gray was not present. Circuit Clerk Johnny Hayward presented the Board with the updated tax levy.
During the meeting, the Board:
• Approved the Grenada School District budget acceptance/funding requirements.
• Approved the setting of levy/tax levy order:
• General County purposed as amended by HB 813-1985 of 34.37
• General fund – reappraisal escrow of 1.00
• General fund – reappraisal of 2.68
• District road maintenance fund of 3.04
• Bridge construction and maintenance of 12.21
• Holmes Jr. College – maintenance of 1.00
• Holmes Jr. College – construction of 1.00
• Holmes Jr. Bond 2011 Series of .72
• Fire protection (outside of city) of 2.00
• Rail Loan of 1.29
• Economic Development District of 3.50
