The Graduate Support Alliance of Grenada (GSA) proudly announces its inaugural Debutante Cotillion. The cotillion will be held at 7 p.m. this Saturday, March 30, at Taylor Hall. This formal gala will pay homage to the rich tradition of African American cotillions, emphasizing values such as community service, academic achievement, etiquette and style.
Dr. Dominique Miller, president of the GSA Board and the event’s coordinator, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming cotillion.
“I am immensely proud of these young ladies," she said. "Their dedication since November has been exceptional, demonstrating full commitment to the process.”
Cotillion participants underwent a rigorous program including workshops, community service engagements, dance rehearsals and fundraising activities.The primary objective of the cotillion is to provide scholarships for Grenada High School graduating seniors.
“Besides imparting valuable knowledge, we aim to support local students in their pursuit of higher education," Dr. Miller emphasized. "We urge the community to support us in this cause by attending the cotillion and extending their support to our deserving debutantes.”
Mistress of Ceremonies, Levetta Conley, a realtor/broker from Brocon Realty Group, Inc., and Master of Ceremonies Gary W. Conley, an entrepreneur based in Tennessee. will formally present each debutante on the cotillion night.
The young ladies making their societal debut at the event include, Miss Kaitlyn Richardson, a senior at Grenada High School; Miss Jamison Woodson, a senior at Grenada High School; Miss Alyssa Honey, a junior at Grenada High School, and Miss Elizabeth Mason, a junior at Grenada High School. We are also excited to honor their escorts, Mr. Jamarion Ammons, Mr. Aaron Hanley, Mr. Dajuan Loston and Mr. Kayleb Parker, all of which are juniors at Grenada High School.
Tickets for the cotillion are priced at $35 per person, and the attire is formal/semi-formal. Dinner will be served during the evening.
