Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at Holcomb Baptist Church for Mr. Frank Bardwell “Bubba” Lance Jr., 69, of Holcomb, who died on Friday, Feb. 14, in Grenada. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery in the Rosebloom Community of Tallahatchie County. The Rev. Larry Edwards and the Rev. Kevin Tribble officiated. The family received friends from noon until service time on Monday, Feb. 17, at Holcomb Baptist Church.
Bubba was born on June 25, 1955, in Tallahatchie County, the son of the late Frank Bardwell Sr. and the late Bessie Jane Ingram Lance. He spent the early part of his career farming and later joined the team at Sealed Air in Grenada. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing at every opportunity. He was a member of Holcomb Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Michael Lance, preceded Bubba in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Adrienne Lance Hoss of Holcomb; son, Trey Lance of Holcomb; stepson, Michael Edwards of Holcomb; sisters, Beth Costilow of Grenada, Paula Woods of Gore Springs and Margaret Lance of Higdon, Ala.; four grandchildren, Noah Hoss, Braelyn Aurell, Bethany Wallace and Mia Ferguson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Tim Bailey, Robert Buchanan, Joe Fennell, Kelly Fennell, Tracy Simpson and Clark Wilson honored Bubba by serving as pallbearers and carried him to rest in Smith Cemetery. Michael Edwards, Daniel Hoss, Noah Hoss and Gary Lee Lance served as honorary pallbearers.
