Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Effie Yvonne Parker Blakely, 87, of Duck Hill, who died Saturday, Aug. 17. Burial followed in Red Hill Cemetery in Duck Hill. The Rev. Tim Lane officiated. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blakely was born on Dec. 5, 1936, the daughter of the late William W. “Dunk” and the late Ludie Mae Latham Parker Jr.
In addition to her parents, her husband, James Fred Blakely; daughters, Susan Blakely and Deborah Kaye “Debbie” Trimble, and siblings, Ronnie Parker, James Wiley Parker, Charles “Punk” Parker and Juawece Windham, preceded Mrs. Blakely in death.
Survivors include, her daughters, Tina Heath (Charlie) of Winona, Mickie Wenger of Winona, Glenda Cooper of Winona and Angela Blakely of Winona; son, Mike Blakely of Winona; son-in-law, Ricky Trimble of Winona; three sisters, Grace Windham of Duck Hill, Diane Mayo of Gore Springs and Sue James of Duck Hill; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
