A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, in Guinn Cemetery in Pontotoc County for Mrs. Edna Clydean McGregor Ard, 94, of Grenada, who died on Saturday, Jan. 3. The Rev. J. Barry Worrell officiated. Family and friends gathered for visitation from 11 a.m. until noon on Friday, Jan. 9, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.
Clydean was born on March 9, 1931, in Thaxton, the daughter of the late Elijah Anderson McGregor and the late Cornelia Pickens McGregor. She worked as a medical records clerk at Grenada Lake Medical Center for many years. She was also a devoted homemaker and a model pastor’s wife. Through the years, Clydean shared her talent as a pianist with many of the churches where she and her husband served. She also loved cooking delicious meals for her family and loved ones. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, husband, the Rev. Ceral Clinton “C.C.” Ard, and three sisters, Audrey Williams, Vivian Franks and Sybil Gullick, preceded Clydean in death.
Survivors include, her son, Jack Ard and his wife, Rosie, of San Antonio, Texas; three granddaughters, Kim Nga (John Nguyen) Diep of Aurora, Colo., Stephanie (Paul) Owens of Helotes, Texas, and Lisa (Joe) Fay, New Haven, Conn.; seven great grandchildren: Austin Nguyen, Emily Nguyen, Marcella Nguyen, Matthew Owens, Grace Owens, Austen Fay and Zooey Fay and a host of nieces and nephews.
