Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mrs. Donna Ruth Ackman, 63, of Grenada, who died on Friday, Oct. 28, in Jackson. Burial will follow in Lambert Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. John Goldwater will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, Nov. 3, all at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service.
Donna was born on April 18, 1959, in Clarksdale, the daughter of Fred Lawrence and Betty Selby Ruth. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Arkansas. She and her family owned and operated the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in Grenada where she was blessed to work alongside her parents, husband and children. She attended Christ Community Church in Grenada and enjoyed reading in her spare time.
Her mother, Betty Selby Ruth; sister, Jan Foote, and one brother, Larry Ruth, preceded Donna in death.
Survivors include, her husband of 35 years, Jay Ackman of Grenada; daughters, Anna Lauren Ackman and Selby Ackman Turner (Cole), all of Grenada; father, Mr. Fred L. “Pat” Ruth of Grenada; one brother, Al Ruth (Amy) of Rogers, Ark., and a host of nieces and nephews.
