A private family graveside service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, in the Duck Hill Cemetery for Mr. Donald Ray Price, 86, of Grenada, and longtime resident of Williston, Tenn., who died on Sunday, Nov. 2, in Grenada.
Born on Sept. 16, 1939, in Thomastown, the son of the late Robert Lee Price and the late Alice Lorraine Ellis Price, Don devoted his life to education and enriching the lives of others. He earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees in education from Memphis State University.
Don’s career as an educator spanned many years, teaching English and Spanish in the Tennessee Public School System and later at the college level. In his later years, he found special fulfillment teaching English as a Second Language, sharing his love of language and culture with students from around the world.
A man of many interests and talents, Don embraced life to the fullest. He was a world traveler, an actor in local theatrical productions and proudly served as a judge for the Miss Tennessee Pageant. His intellect, humor and zest for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, five sisters, Dena Fitzgerald, Kathryn LaRosa, Avis Hobbs, Alice Beck and Audrey Paine, and four brothers, Hilry E. Price, Leon Price, Aubrey Price and Harold Price, preceded Don in death.
Survivors include, his son, Eric Brian Price of Old Town, Fla.; grandson, Evan Price; one sister, Delores P. Piercy of Grenada; one brother, Roy Price of Long Beach, and a host of nieces and nephews.
