Relief for residents suffering hardships following the EF-2 tornado that carved a path through Grenada County on March 15, causing its most extensive damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure in the small community of Elliott will continue in Grenada County.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) opened one of 10 Disaster Recovery Centers in Grenada County on Monday, June 2, to serve residents in the 11 counties that suffered damage during the March 14-15 storms (DR-4874-MS). Despite Friday's announcement of the closure of one center, Grenada County's DRC will remain open.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and FEMA will be closing the Smith County Disaster Recovery Center after the end of business on Saturday, June 14. The DRC in Issaquena County will be closed on Saturday, but will resume operations on Monday, June 16.
So far, more than 2,421 valid registrations have been filed, with over $6 million distributed to survivors.
The locations across the state that are helping survivors of the March 14-15 storms will continue to operate at normal hours (MS-DR-4874). Survivors can visit the following Disaster Recovery Locations:

Center hours are 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. DRCs are closed on Sundays.
