Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at the Pentecostals of Grenada for Ms. Diane H. Jordan, 75, who died on Monday, Dec. 22, in Memphis, Tenn. Burial followed in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in the Teoc community in Carroll County. Visitation was held two hours prior to the service on Saturday, Dec. 27, at the church.
Diane was born on Feb. 13, 1950, in Grenada, the daughter of the late U.G. Gatlin and the late Willie Minga Gatlin. She was a member of the Pentecostals of Grenada where she enjoyed serving and worshipping her Lord. She was also passionate about sewing and cooking for her family and friends. Known as “Mama D,” she will also be remembered as a Jack of all trades and a Master of them all. Diane was also the owner/operator of the Handy Mart for many years in Grenada.
In addition to her parents, one sister, Dot Berg, preceded Diane in death.
Survivors include, her son, Leslie Hughes (Deborah); daughter, Melinda Lee (Jimmy), all of Grenada; two brothers, Charles Gatlin and Billy Gatlin; two sisters, Ouida Semmes and Clara Loden; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Paul Betts, John Horn, Brandon Hughes, Jacob Lee, Jimmy Lee, L.J. Lee and Jay Wood honored Diane by serving as pallbearers to lay her to rest. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Gatlin, Charles Gatlin, Shelby Jordan and Gary Loden
