A service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada to honor Mr. Dane Harbin, 39, of Owens Cross Roads, Ala., who died on Saturday, Nov. 22. Burial with military honors followed in Oddfellows Cemetery in Grenada. His brother, Zack Harbin, officiated.
Dane was born on Oct. 15, 1986, in Huntsville, Ala., the son of Frank Harbin and Sharolyne Campbell Harbin. He attended New Market Baptist Church where he became a member when he was 11 years old. His elementary years were spent at New Market School and high school years were at Buckhorn High School.
Following graduation, Dane joined the United States Marine Corps, which included a tour of duty in Iraq. Upon returning, he earned an associate’s degree at Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Ala. Dane was an avid outdoorsman that loved fishing, hunting and coaching his children’s teams.
His grandparents, Bob Campbell and Buddy and Peggy Harbin, preceded Dane in death.
Survivors include, his beloved wife, Lorna; four children; his parents; brother and his grandmother, Barbara Campbell of Grenada.
