Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at North Winona Baptist Church for Mr. Corey Spencer Welch, 29, of Hattiesburg, formerly of West, who died on Tuesday, Aug. 2, in Jackson. Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery near West. The Rev. Britt Johnston, the Rev. Ryan Vaughn and the Rev. Frank Vaughn III officiated. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the church.
Corey was born on March 5, 1993, in Grenada. He was a member of The Grove Church in Hattiesburg.
Survivors include, his parents, Susan “Susie” Vaughn Welch of Hattiesburg and Henry W. Welch of West; sister, Carly Suzette Welch of Woodmere, N.Y.; his maternal grandmother, Margarita Vaughn and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, c/o Johnnie McCreary, 3249 Ellis Rd., West, MS 39192.
