The Ladies Cemetery Association which manages Odd Fellows Cemetery, discovered last year that the tombstone for Miss Lizzie Horn is inscribed only with Susan Elizabeth Horn, date of birth and date of death. There is nothing there to describe the very significant contribution Miss Lizzie made to the education community of Grenada. Therefore, thanks to generous donors and Miss Horn family members, a monument has been positioned adjacent to her tombstone.
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, the group will host a dedication ceremony at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Dr. Buddy Pender, former Grenada Schools Superintendent will speak along with Kenneth Page a relative from Nashville, Tenn. After their remarks the microphone will be opened to anyone who has a special story or memory of Miss Lizzie.
All are invited. It might be warm, so casual clothing is preferred.
