The Pilot Club of Grenada-Pilot International was well represented at Grenada’s Downtown Jubilee on Sept. 10. Members greeted Jubilee attendees, responded to questions regarding the activities of the Pilot Club of Grenada and shared projects supported by the Club, specifically the BrainMinders program that teaches children how important their brains are.
The first question asked is always, “Do you fly planes?” The answer is, “No, we focus on healthy brains.” Pilot International is a community based volunteer, charitable and educational service organization, whose purpose is to promote programs and activities that influence positive change in communities around the world. The primary focus is brain-related disorders, brain health and safety and other local charitable causes.
The A-B-Cs of Pilot are: A.Youth Development and Leadership through Pilot-sponsored Anchor Clubs; B. Brain Safety and Fitness; and, C. Caring for Families and Caregivers in Times of Need.
Another project that is unique to the Pilot Club of Grenada is the restoration of the Yellow Fever Cemetery, with clearing of brush and debris and the cleaning of tombstones ongoing. Contributions are requested to help with these expenses, as well as obtaining Ground Penetrating Radar to locate unseen graves.
