After water was shut off early Thursday morning and remained off until late evening for residents in the Futheyville area as well as those living from the Bogue Creek bridge to O’Brien Hill Road, they are once again experiencing low to no water pressure Friday.
According to City of Grenada City Manager Stanford Amos, more repairs are needed.
“We were able to address several leaks to restore water for last night, however, we are still looking for other leaks that necessitate having to turn off water again this morning,” he said. “I assure you that we are diligently working on finding and repairing those leaks to get you full water restoration as soon as possible.”
According to the Grenada County Emergency Management Agency, once water is restored, citizen from the Bogue Creek bridge on Highway 8 east to O’Brien Hill Road and back to north of the boat ramp area will be under a Boil Water Alert until further notice.
According to Amos, water valves were closed again Friday morning to take care of “this essential matter.” Crews with the City of Grenada Water Department are working to fix the issues.
“Please be patient with us as we work to get water to you ASAP,” he concluded. “Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
