A memorial service will be held at a later date for Cody James Hollis, 28, of Grenada, who died on Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at his residence.
Cody was born on Aug. 16, 1994, in Grenada, the son of Adam and Lisa Hollis. He graduated from Camp Shelby’s Youth Challenge Program where he studied small engine repair. He was a generous and kind soul, who was always happy to help anyone when he could.
Cody will be remembered for his optimistic attitude and friendly nature. His laugh could fill up a room. He loved all kids, animals, Alabama football, Pokémon, traveling and wrestling. But most of all, he loved and was loved by his family and friends that had become family.
His grandparents, James O. Hollis and Rosie M. Hollis, preceded Cody in death.
Survivors include, his life partner, Kayla Weaver, and their son, Landon Weaver; daughter, Addaleigh Faith Hollis, and her mother, Shandii Gilbert; his parents, Adam and Lisa Hollis; grandparents, M.C. Woods and Sherry Barnett; sisters, Holly Read and her husband, Neil, and Heather Hollis; one brother, Matthew Gober, and his significant other, Christi Cochran, and three nieces, Jalissa Rounds, Ivy Read and Logan Read.
