Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Billy Wayne Turner, 71, of Grenada, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at his residence. Burial followed in Mission Cemetery near Winona. The Rev. Parish Hartley officiated.
Billy was born on April 21, 1953, in Greenwood. He was a retired lineman with Entergy and a member of Elliott Baptist Church. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends in his spare time.
His parents, Lona and Mike Parkerson and William and Lucille Turner; one daughter, Brittany Elizabeth Turner, and his sister, Ann Richardson, preceded Billy in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Dot Robinson Turner; one daughter, Jeanna Brown of Grenada; three sons, Paul Turner (Andrea) of Cleveland, Michael Turner (Tiffany) of Littleton, Colo., and Cristopher Turner (Erin) of Gore Springs; 13 grandchildren, Brandon Turner, Hunter Turner, Jayme Palmer, Caitlyn Turner, Zane Turner, Ashton Turner, Haley Turner, MaKayla Turner, Colt Turner, Lexi Turner, Colton Turner, Kolby Boyle and Peyton Brown and four great grandchildren.
Paul Ingram, Alex McGee, Paul Moorman, Jeffrey Robinson, Mike Staten and Bobby Vaughn honored Billy by serving as pallbearers and carried him to rest in Mission Cemetery. George Barefoot, Buddy Richardson and Stacy Wrenn served as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Elliott Baptist Church or the Mission Cemetery Fund.
