Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada for Betty Lynn Briscoe McDaniel, 70, of Marks, who died on Saturday, May 6, at her residence. Burial will follow in Wayside Cemetery in Scobey. Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Wednesday, May 10, at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Betty was born on Aug. 4, 1952, in Grenada, the daughter of the late Kelcy Carwell Briscoe Sr. and the late Ruby Jarvis Briscoe. She worked for many years as a deputy sheriff. She was a member of Hardy Baptist Church in Grenada.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Beverly Briscoe; her brother, Kelcy “Butch” Briscoe Jr., and one grandson, Hunter McDaniel, preceded Betty in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Greg McDaniel of Marks; two sons, Joseph McDaniel (Latoya) of Courtland and Gregory Lynn McDaniel (Jennifer) of Duck Hill; two daughters, Kelly Posgrove and Angela James, both of Clinton, Ken., and seven grandchildren.
