Funeral services were held at noon on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium in Grayslake, Ill., for Annie L. Jones, 93, a resident of Ingleside, Ill., and a former resident of Grenada, who died on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, at her residence. Burial followed in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Libertyville, Ill. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday, Jan. 13, at Strang Funeral Chapel.
Annie was born on Sept. 13, 1931, in Zama, the daughter of the late John and the late Myrtle Massey. She enjoyed crocheting and was very active at her church, Enon Baptist Church in Grenada. She enjoyed reading books and her Bible.
In addition to her parents, her husband Clyde E. Jones Sr.; her children, Peggy Burk and Clyde Jones Jr., and her great grandson, Charles Hawkins, preceded Annie in death.
Survivors include, her children, Myrtle (Brian) Jones-Palmer, Charles Bruce (Judy) Jones, Barbara Hawkins and Mark (Karen) Jones, her nine grandchildren; her 22 great grandchildren; her sister, Idris Jane Magnusson; her sister-in-law, Lucy Niper, and her many loved nieces and nephews from the Dubard, Massey and Jones families.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
