Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Services in Grenada for Mrs. Alvia Joy Calder Robinson Walton, 73, of Tillatoba, who died on Wednesday, Aug. 21, in Oxford. Burial followed in Union Cemetery in Tillatoba. The Rev. Shelly Scallions officiated.
Mrs. Walton was born on May 17, 1951, in Charleston, the daughter of the late J.T. and the late Bertha Steadman Calder. She was employed by Dollar General where she worked as a supervisor.
In addition to her parents, one son, Larry Michael Robinson, and her brothers, Wade Calder and Howard Calder, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Ezra Walton; one son, Danny Dean Robinson (Sara) of Vicksburg and her sisters, Violet Coaten (David) of Oakland and Paulette Paumen (Craig) of Kentucky.
