Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Albert Dale Waller, 76, of Flowood, and longtime resident of Grenada, who died on Friday, Aug. 29, in Jackson. Burial followed in Coffeeville Cemetery. The Rev. Eugene Heimbach and the Rev. Tim McCaffrey officiated. The family received friends from noon until service time on Sunday, Aug. 31, at McKibben and Guinn.
Dale was born on Sept. 7, 1948, in Coffeeville, the son of the late Thomas Albert Waller and the late Ollie Simpson Waller. He was a graduate of Oakland High School and went on to enjoy a long career with BellSouth. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Dale found great joy in hunting and fishing whenever the opportunity arose. He was a man of faith and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, three brothers, Harold Waller, Lonnie Waller and Donnie Waller, preceded Dale in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Jane Waller; two daughters, Alethea Krutz (Hugh) of Brandon and Toni Gatesman (Steve) of Greenwood, Ark.; two brothers, Larry Waller of Scooba and Gary Waller of Coffeeville, and three grandchildren, Abbey Gatesman, Wyatt Krutz and Lylla Gatesman.
Coley Little Bailey, Samy McCracken, Fred Oswalt, Don Thomas, Steve Thomas and Eric Waller honored Dale by serving as pallbearers.
